LANCASTER AND WESTMORLAND STOREYS (NOTE).
Mr Joseph Storey, the secretary of the Milnethorpe and Burton Horticultural Society, is a descendant of Mr. Joseph Storey, brother of Mr. Isaac Storey, father of Sir Thomas Storey, Kt. The lineage is as follows:

STOREYS OF LANCASTER, TROUTBECK, &c.
It transpires that William Storey and Mary Greenup were married on February 12th, 1774 at the Parish Church of Melling, near Kirkby Lonsdale. A relation named Greenup and Lawrence Rawsthorne were witnesses. This marriage register has been sought for in over twenty different parishes.

NOTES ON THE GREENUP, GREENOP, GREENEP, AND GREENIP FAMILY.
Mr John Greenop of Red Bank Lodge. Grasmere, Westmorland, has sent the following particulars relating to the Greenop Family. He writes as follows:-

"My brother, Robert Greenop, has forwarded a letter of yours to me to see if I can supply any history of the Storeys and the Greenops. All I can tell you is that the Storeys, of Troutbeck and Ambleside, claim to be relations of ours through Mary Greenop, who married William Storey, and was the grandmother of Sir Thomas Storey, J.P., D.L.

"Jonathan Greenop. my great-great-grandfather, left Calbeck some time in the seventeen fifties, the exact year I cannot give. His elder child. John Greenop, who was my great-grandfather, was born at Holme Ground, near Coniston, in 1759. and his sister Mary was born at Low Birk How, in Little Langdale, in 1761. My great-grandfather John, married a woman named Mary Coward, on the 12th June, 1784, at Grasmere Parish Church. She was one of the Cowards (anciently Cowherds) of Hawkshead and Out Gate, who used to be connected with the Flag Quarries near Brathay. His sister,
