THE STORYS OF KIRKLINTON AND BRANCHES.
To his landlord, Joseph Liddle of Newcastle, merchant, testator gives one cubbourd
and the Birde (?) that stands upon it and brass. To Elizabeth wife of Jacob
Jonston of Cardulees *ten pounds of money and a milk house. To Robert Baxter
testator's brother-in-law ten shillings is given. The residue of his goods personal
estate and cattle testator gives unto Jacob Johnston of Carduless and John Liddle
of Moorhouse and Jonathan Twentyman of Little Orton they being appointed full and
sole executors of this his last Will and Testament He revokes all former wills.

jurat TIMOTHY TWENTYMAN jurat and THOMAS NIXON, jurat
A Bond is also included. Francis Story, of The Lake, had four freehold estates within the parish of Kirklinton, viz.:- The Lake, Gilbree, Gillhead and Brownrigg, according to his Will which was proved on the 20th November, 1779. He was the eldest son of Thomas Story, and his children were John, Anne, Jane, George and Robert, to each of whom he left £100. The Will was made on the 7th of the month and in the year above mentioned. Witnesses, Hen : Armstrong, Thomas Ferguson, Joseph Graham, all duly sworn. The trustees appointed are John Graham, of Fordsike, in the parish of Scaleby, and James Graham, of Newbiggin, parish of Kirklinton. Robert Story, of Wragmire Bank, in the parish of Wetherall, yeoman, made his Will on the 21st October, 1796. He left to his son Christopher Story, farmer, £150; to his son Robert Story, £250 ; part of the principal sum of £300 secured upon mortgage on the estate of Daniel Fleming, at Buckhowbank, within the parish of Dalston. To his son John Story he left £200 ; to his daughter Ann Story, 20s., to be paid within twelve months after his decease. Testator leaves his freehold estates, household effects, &c., to his wife Elizabeth, whom he appoints his executrix. The witnesses to the Will are George Hewitt, John Robinson and Jonathan Brownhill. The Will was proved on the 7th October, 1797. On the south side of Arthuret church is this memorial:- "Here lyeth the body of Mrs. Thomasin Story only daughter of Mr. George Constable late Rector of this Church who was maryed to Mr. Thomas Story of Justice Towne ye 12th January 1658. She left issue George, Christopher, Thomas and Anne and dyed the 1st February 1674." Ann, daughter of George Storie buried Jan 7 1640. Here follows the Certificate of Marriage of Christopher Story, Junr., of Righead, forwarded by the late Alderman Thompson Wigham, of Carlisle. WHEREAS Christopher Story sone of Christopher Story of Righead and Mary Graham daughter of William Graham of Sykeside both in the parish of Kirklinton and in the County of Cumberland having declared there Intentions of Marriage with each other in severall Publicke Meetings of the people of God called Quakers in the Said County of Cumberland, according to the good order used amongst them whose proceeding therein after a deliberate considerason thereof they appeared cleare of all others and having consent of parents and others concerned were allowed of by the said Meetings, Now these are to Certifie all whome it may concerne that for the full accomplishing of these said intentions this twenty eight day of the fourth month Comonly called June, In the yeare according to the English account one thousand seven hundred and fifteen, they the said Christopher
